Far away from the usual hustle of a city The Subtle Nuance represents the peace and warmth of a loving family of four – a couple in their late 50s with their daughter and little pet dog. Home away from home ,this 1200sqft abode designed by Anusha Katoch and Janesh Jain, is this family’s second home where they intent to stay whenever they travel from Chandigarh to Gurugram.
Located at Dlf-The Ultima in Gurugram, surrounded by lush green farms and capturing abundance of natural light , this 3 bedroom apartment managed to capture subtle sentiments of the family post pandemic while adding some pazzaz to the spaces.
A Neutral palette washed with warm colours and a variety of textures has been incorporated to create subtle nuances demarcating different spaces. ... As one enters , they are welcomed into a stylish space with comfortable seating. The three seater sofa along with the two armchair seating is done in a neutral colour to accentuate the feature lounge with a huge canvas painting that accessorizes the living room wall while creating emotion in the space. We have tried to create moments of drama within different spaces in nooks and corners , complimented with details, décor and artwork.
The dining table is made with marble top and wooden base with a distinguished shape for a perfect fit into the space. A beautiful chandelier crowns the dining space creating a warm dining set up. The walls of the living and dining space are treated with fluted wooden panelling and tinted mirror in combination with textured wallpaper and ambient light. The tinted mirror adds a sheen and neat glamourous feel to the space. One of the wooden panelling smartly converts into the shutters of the Mandir. The bar cum crockery unit serves both, as a display of crockery with additional storage and a bar storage and counter as well.
The daughter’s room blends a vintage- earthy and a quirky -feminine vibe together. It has been created in an earthy colour palette with detailed carvings complimented by a distressed paint appearance on the furniture pieces. A small detailed study space just depicts ow dainty yet functional this space is.
Morning glory white accompanied by deep teal colours creates a fresh vibe in the master bedroom . Hints of toned gold finishes in consoles, side tables and accessories such as floor lamps creates the “ Subtle Nuance” in this room.
The guest room has a colder palette as compared to the rest of the house, with subtle details on the walls and the perfect grey hues that make the room spacious. One could even work on the study unit that has been extended into a small study space.
Overall the subtle nuances in all of the spaces express the essence of the spaces.
