Client brief Everyone has that one place where they can slow down , relax and find their centres, for our clients their abode had to be that one special space! A beautiful minimalist space which is comforting and has the power to attract the eye while soothing the mind and soul is something that our clients were expecting from the final design of their grand residence in Ibiza Town , Surajkund, Faridabad. Away from the busy city and into the scenic arms of the beautiful Aravalis at a distant, this residence is being shared by a busy and young couple who are passionate about their work and travelling. The clients wanted a residence with a consortia of classical and modern design elements balanced with minimal details and a sprinkle of luxe. Cold and sleek finishes such as marble, glass, mirrors were preferred over warm wooden finishes . Warmth in the spaces was added with heavy upholstery in curtains sofa and the artwork played a major role in creating cosy spaces. Overall one would enter into a sense of energized calm while transitioning from a period of activity and be left awestruck with the minimal yet luxe effect of the spaces. Artistic and sculptural elements had to be thought of in detail since the clients are fond of art and the ripples of energy that it creates in ones heart.
Concept note As designers we have a huge responsibility to deliver the most satisfying and comforting spaces to our clients. Imagine walking into a peaceful garden in a busy and hustling city, a short siesta from the chaos that we expose our hearts and minds to. This particular residence spread across 3200sqft located in Ibiza Town ,Surajkund was a perfect location for a peaceful break from the daily hustle of life for our clients. The advantage of being located on the 17th floor gave us some beautiful vistas from the balconies and natural light gleaming into the space since the house is North-South oriented. ... In the laps of nature and also right beside a beautiful skyline of the city this residence had different moods on both sides along the balconies. Minimal details in the form of mouldings and artwork on the walls were used to add flavour to different spaces, the living room and dining room with the utmost grandeur of them all.
How to make a couple that is already busy in their work come to mental peace in their abode and make best use of the site context at the same time? The one thing that our clients loved the most was art and sculptural grand elements in a perfectly balanced minimal space. “Balance” is something that we all try to create in our lives everyday every second. So we decided to visually balance heavy elements with light and intricate details. We played with balance and tried to amalgamate Seijaku , based on the Japanese concept for finding serendipity amidst life’s chaos.
